UCSD Pulmonary Physiology Lecture Series

The online lecture series by Dr. John West incorporates both basic science and clinical topics pertinent to pulmonary and critical care medicine. The lecture series revolves around topics such as Lung Structure-Function, Ventilation/Perfusion Relationship, Acid Base, Skeletal Muscle and the Cardiovascular System, Obstructive Lung Disease, Sleep Physiology, Interstitial Lung Disease, and Clinical Lung Transplantation, among others. Divided into two sections, respiratory physiology and pulmonary pathophysiology, these lectures parallel the chapters in the accompanying books written by Dr. John West. While the textbooks are not required, they can enhance learning, and fellows are encouraged to consider purchasing. During the initial six months of their fellowship, Pulmonary and critical care fellows are expected to watch and review these lectures, completing both categories 1 and 2.
